Custom guitar mods, electronics, setups and full restorations — every mod documented start to finish.
Run by Andrew DiVito
Serving Chicagoland, including Oak Park and Chicago
ETM Design & Productions is an independent guitar tech and lutherie brand focused on custom electronics, full restorations, and ground-up mods. Andrew's standard is "all the way" — no partial mods, no shortcuts. Every project is documented from teardown to final setup and shared as mod breakdowns across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Setups, repairs and electronics work for Oak Park and Chicagoland guitarists.
Use the repair email builder above to tell me about your guitar and what it needs. Photos help.
You bring the guitar to me. Every guitar gets a free 24-point inspection, and I begin testing and setting up as I inspect.
I text you what I find and give you options. I never move forward without your okay, and I send updates while I work.
A typical setup is ready in about a day. You pick it up and pay with cash or Zelle.
A typical setup takes about a day, as long as nothing is badly wrong with the guitar. Bigger repairs take longer, and I'll tell you what to expect before I start.
No. You drop the guitar off and pick it up when it's ready.
Electric guitars, acoustic guitars, bass guitars and classical guitars.
Every guitar gets a free 24-point inspection on every visit. It's how I find out what your guitar actually needs before anything is quoted.
Yes. I text you as I find things, lay out your options, and never do work you haven't approved. Updates keep coming while I work.
For electrics I keep 9s, 10s and 11s in stock. Ernie Ball Slinkys for 9s and 10s, and D'Addario XL for 11s. Strings are extra, or bring your own.
Cash or Zelle.
Yes. I guarantee my setups as long as the guitar hasn't been touched by another tech or luthier, or by you, and hasn't been damaged. A change in string gauge or a change to the bridge or saddle also voids it, because a new gauge means a new setup and intonation.
Every mod starts with a full teardown — checking hardware, electronics, neck relief, and fret condition before anything's decided.
Wiring, pickups, hardware, and finish choices are mapped out with real parts and real tolerances — no guesswork.
The work happens on camera. Every step — routing, wiring, hardware install — is shot and logged for the mod breakdown.
Full setup, intonation, and a final play-test before the guitar goes back out — or up on the wall.
